An excellent opportunity exists to acquire a dynamic expanding mixed practice (40% sheep / cattle, 40% small animals, 20% horses) in central Western Queensland.
The practice is well established and has been expanded from 1 to 3 full time vets. It is the only practice in the district and it has enormous scope for expansion.

The Practice
The surgery is centrally located in Longreach and has room for expansion. It consists of reception, consult room, surgery, kennel room and large storage area. There is a unit at the rear of the surgery suitable for student accommodation. A separate area houses 8 stables, 9 yards, a stallion yard and feed/store room. The horse crush is under cover and there is a separate air conditioned building used for equine reproduction work.
Equipment includes an isoflurane anaesthetic machine, portable X ray machine with digital plates, endoscope, ultrasound, cattle wand, power float, autoclave and a range of instruments. The computer program is Rx works.
The District
Longreach is the hub of the central west with a population of approximately 3000 in the town and a total of 5000 in the district. Rural production has changed from predominantly sheep to cattle.
Tourism is becoming more important to the local economy with the Stockman's Hall of Fame and the Qantas Museum major drawcards. There are excellent facilities with 2 primary schools and 1 secondary school, the base hospital, a good medical centre with 4 doctors. There is a daily air service to Brisbane as well as bus links north and south. The social and sporting scenes are very active.
Longreach is a friendly, family oriented town in a safe rural community.
